Qatar Goodwood Festival, better known as ‘Glorious Goodwood’, some of the greatest races in the world opens on Tuesday 31st July when racegoers will arrive for the five day social highlight, running until Saturday 4th August.

Located in the heart of Chichester, only 15 minutes away from Goodwood, our team of Chefs create diverse and imaginative menus that are crafted using fresh ingredients, our food is locally sourced and seasonal so you can be sure to experience the very best of dining when you visit Pallant Restaurant over Qatar Goodwood Festival.

Dine outside in our courtyard garden with a selection of our Cicchetti dishes, authentic Italian tapas – perfect for sharing or as a starter, or enjoy a glass of our English Sparkling Wine, from local Tinwood Vineyard, great for a warm day while looking through the A la Carte menu.

Join us for an early lunch from 11.30am, or enjoy an evening meal on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. On Thursday evening, join us for Thursdays @ Pallant – a 2 course set menu for £13.50 per person, or celebrate your winnings with Steak Nights @ Pallant, available Friday and Saturday evening from 5.30pm. Last month saw us shaking things up at the bar with our new cocktail list and we are proud to announce there will be a new drink making an appearance on the menu this Summer. Thanks to local gin company, Chilgrove, we have introduced limited edition Chilgrove Bluewater Edition to Pallant Restaurant, celebrating the connection between England and Australia. The Bluewater Edition is a London Dry Gin crafted using fourteen botanicals, drawing it’s inspiration from marrying distinctive Australian flavours with a backbone of quintessentially English ingredients, are distilled with a 100% grape-alcohol base and natural mineral water sourced from the South Downs surrounding Chilgrove in West Sussex.

“Upon first sip of the gin, there is an explosion of flavour. Playful, crisp citrus notes from the Australian botanicals linger on the tongue, providing the perfect complement to the traditional and complex gin flavours that the English botanicals deliver. The underlying grape base meanwhile lends a luxuriously smooth texture to the spirit”.

Entice your tastebuds with The Atlantic G&T: Chilgrove Bluewater Gin, Fever-Tree Tonic, twist of Orange Peel and a sprig of Thyme.

The countdown to the largest motoring garden party in the world has begun and The Festival of Speed is only a few weekends away, “boasting cars, stars and motor sport royalty at the largest event of its kind, gathering the planet’s rarest and most glamorous cars”. This year is sure to be an incredible occasion as Goodwood celebrates the Silver Jubilee with some very special displays, including the Duke of Richmond’s favourite 25 moments since the event began.

Take your tastebuds to sunnier climates abroad to the Caribbean beaches and the festivals of Jamaica and enjoy the brand new addition to our A la Carte menu – what’s even better is it is completely vegetarian!

The vibrant colours of sweet potato, alongside aubergine and chickpeas are served with the crunch of cashew nuts, coriander and sweet sultanas. Packed full of flavour, you will discover a perfect blend of spices including Cumin, Cayenne Pepper, Turmeric, Ground Coriander, Cinnamon, Fenugreek Seeds, All Spice and Dry Thyme.

The irresistibly delicious dish is paired with Jamaica’s national side dish, fluffy fried dumplings, light on the inside and crisp on the outside. Perfect for soaking up the fusion of spices in the curry sauce.

This is a proper carnival of a meal and has everything you need in one scrumptious dish full of Caribbean flavours

For a lighter vegetarian dish, Chef has introduced us to a Summery Crispy Halloumi Salad with harissa roasted Mediterranean vegetables served with a chive creme fraiche. The spicy and fragrant paste gives a light kick to the vegetables completing the dish perfectly alongside the crispy textures and juicy saltiness of the halloumi cheese.

It’s time to get excited for summer with our new cocktail menu! Get into the swing of the warm weather and savour these classics in our beautiful garden, enjoying the shade under the Plane trees.

We have a fantastic Spritz duo that is sure to appeal to everyone’s Prosecco preferences. Both include the classic and fresh Cá Del Console Prosecco, each with their own additions. The Brits Spritz includes a fruity kick of Pimms and Lemonade, garnished with fresh orange and mint. On the other side of the pair, The Aperol Spritz combines the same classic Prosecco, mixed with bittersweet Aperol and topped up with Soda Water. These classic wine-based drinks are not to be missed this summer!

No cocktail menu can be complete without a House G&T. The Chilgrove Gin & Tonic is a simple drink for the vintage drinkers. The Chilgrove Gin encloses many summery and earthy botanicals, such as spicy Coriander and refreshing Lemon Myrtle. The drink also encompasses Fever-Tree tonic, served with a garnish of fresh mint and sour lime.

Or perhaps a classy sparkling drink would appeal to you more? If so, The Kir Royale is the drink for you! This drink mixes the strong, traditional Jules Feraud Champagne with the intensely fruity Crème de Cassis, creating a perfect blend of sweet and savoury.

And last but not least, our classic cocktails top off the menu. The Negroni incorporates the sophisticated Chilgrove Gin, fruity Campari and the sweet Italian Vermouth. This zingy, refreshingly bitter cocktail is perfect to enjoy in the garden. Another cocktail that’s one not to miss is The Moscow Mule, a snappy classic garnished with fresh lime. This final cocktail incorporates Vodka, spicy Ginger Beer and sour Lime Juice, another classic drink ideal for summer.

Pronounced “Chi-ket-tee”, Cicchetti is Venice’s version of Spanish tapas. Bite sized dishes that line the little pubs and bars around the city of Venice. There is a great selection of Cicchetti dishes on the menu at Pallant Restaurant featuring some of Italy’s famous specialities from the very popular Serrano and Parmesan, served with sliced pear, toasted walnuts and white truffle oil and Rosario, cured sausage cooked in red wine with caramelised onions to vegetarian dishes including Asparagus and Duck Egg Crostini, with toasted ciabatta, pea pesto and a wholegrain mustard dressing.

Inspired by the artwork displayed on the walls of the restaurant and the upcoming seasonal flavours, we are pleased to announce that we have a new event for the last week in May. Spring has finally arrived and what better way to welcome in the season than with one of the finest, freshest foods, a celebration of shellfish. Pallant Restaurant will be transformed to celebrate these delicious crustaceans with an exciting selection of dishes on the menu. As well as our usual menu we will have a variety of shellfish specials available to enjoy paired with plenty of great wines.

There’s no denying that shellfish tastes delicious and is definitely the food of the season to get your claws into! If you have never eaten it before, you are in for a treat – the slightly sweet, succulent flavours have been enjoyed throughout human history and it is a great healthy addition to any diet, full of iron, zinc and vitamins.
